A partner listing can help you find an agency with relevant platform experience. Your hiring decision also needs evidence about the people assigned to your project, the work they will own, and the conditions behind their reported results.

Use credentials to build the shortlist

Check a claimed listing in the platform's own directory. Read the services and reviews, then compare them with your actual requirement. Shopify explains the contact and review process in its guide to hiring Partners.

A platform specialist can be a sensible choice for an agreed Shopify project. A broader team may fit when the open questions include another commerce platform, a customer app, or an operational integration. Ask both kinds of provider to answer the same project brief.

Ask for evidence you can inspect

Question Useful evidence Follow-up
Who will do the work? Named delivery roles and expected availability Which work is subcontracted, and who reviews it?
What comparable work have those people done? A walkthrough of a relevant workflow What did this team own personally?
How was the result measured? Baseline, period, definition, and scope What else changed during that period?
What happens when delivery goes wrong? An incident example and a recovery plan Who can pause a launch?
What will we own and operate? Access, documentation, and handover deliverables Can our team demonstrate the routine tasks?

If confidentiality prevents sharing customer records, request an anonymized walkthrough or a permitted reference. A missing public case study creates an evidence gap to resolve; it does not by itself establish poor delivery.

Separate a result from the explanation

If a proposal reports revenue growth, ask whether the number refers to the store, the whole business, or one campaign. Record the time period, currency, returns treatment, and changes in advertising or pricing. Then ask how the agency's contribution was assessed.

For example, a storefront launched during a larger promotion may have supported growth without causing all of it. A credible explanation describes the implementation and the limits of the measurement. Do not require a tidy causal story when the evidence cannot support one.

Use a simple evidence rating

Mark each answer as demonstrated, documented, reference pending, or unresolved. Keep the supporting link or note beside it. Avoid turning unknowns into arbitrary numerical scores that make a weak comparison look precise.

Ask each shortlisted team to explain the same difficult scenario. A useful prompt is: “An order was paid, but the warehouse never received it. Show us how your proposed system detects that and who resolves it.” The response reveals how design, engineering, and operations work together.

Apply the same standard to Devekko

Our About page identifies founder experience separately from Devekko project outcomes. Use it to start a conversation, then ask for evidence relevant to your own scope. A project discussion should establish the work, owners, and acceptance criteria before a build is agreed.
