Choose a product development partner around the decision, the work, and the evidence you need. Research, design, engineering, and ongoing management can sit within one engagement, but the proposed responsibilities still need to be explicit.

What IDEO presents

IDEO describes a broad design and innovation practice spanning strategy, customer and employee research, prototyping, digital product design, industrial design, and organizational change. Its design-services page connects those capabilities to growth and getting products to market.

The firm's digital-product case describes co-design, a working proof of concept, a pilot, and further development with a development partner. That is a useful reminder to inspect actual delivery scope. IDEO's published work includes implementation as well as strategic exploration.

How Devekko scopes the work

Devekko's Product Development and Management service offers three starting points: define a product, build and launch a release, or manage ongoing priorities with your team. The proposed work connects product decisions to web, ecommerce, mobile, and AI/data implementation.

The first engagement should produce a decision your team can act on: a defined release, a prototype that answers a question, or an agreed order of priorities. Fees, capacity, timing, and acceptance criteria are set in the proposal.

Compare the proposal you would actually buy

Decision What to request from either provider Record for your team
Product direction Customer problem, evidence, and unresolved assumptions Which decision must the engagement resolve?
Research and design Participants, method, prototypes, and review criteria What will be learned and how will it change the plan?
Implementation Named roles, delivery partners, integrations, and acceptance checks Who owns a working release?
Ongoing management Roadmap process, capacity, cadence, and handover Who owns priorities after launch?
Commercial scope Written deliverables, dependencies, fees, and change process What is included in this commitment?
Evidence Relevant case, personal contribution, metric definition, and source What remains to be verified?

Match the evidence to the claim

IDEO publishes a broad work portfolio. Devekko's selected case studies draw on Nicholas Roberts's published résumé, with client and product names omitted. Two describe previous employment responsibilities and one a founder-built product. The cases identify counts and reported outcomes separately.

These are different evidence formats. Ask for a relevant walkthrough and clarify the role of the people proposed for your project. A familiar logo or a large operating number cannot answer every question about your scope.

Choose a useful first commitment

If the main uncertainty is demand or usability, scope research and a prototype around that question. If the need is established, define the release and its dependencies. If the product already exists, start with the backlog, team capacity, and decisions that need an owner.

This comparison reflects public pages reviewed on October 27, 2026. Standard project prices were not observed on IDEO's reviewed service and contact pages. Devekko's pricing is proposal-based. There is no evidence here for a cheaper, faster, or better claim; the next step is to compare written scopes against the same brief.
